Palma Walking Tour

Walking tour of Gothic Quarter with the Cathedral and Spanish Contemporary Art  Museum.

On this half-day private tour you will visit the Gothic quarter and Cathedral of Palma.

The site of the cathedral was occupied by an Old Mosque , destroyed by cristian troups arrived to this Island in 1229, remains of which are to be found in the subsoil , and later , begun by King James the II of Majorca in 1306 and finish in 1601. The present cathedral, taking advantage of elements of the previous one, consists of three naves and an apse, covered with pointed archies.

The three most important things to be seen are :

1) Rose Window .The Widest in gothic area

2) Creation of Antonio Gaudi . Baldaquino

3) Chapel of Santisimo by Miguel Barceló (contemporary art )
